Yankee Doodle Dandy (The one act musical)

Age Level: Middle Grades to High School
Cast: 16F, 16M, plus dancers and chorus
Time: 60 minutes, 1 act

Emily Snooker, great-granddaughter of the town’s founder, tries to force the teens of Snookersville to stage a phoney historical stage show for the town’s centennial. But Emily’s stuffy plans are thwarted. The angelic spirit of George M. Cohan revisits earth and helps the teens produce a terrific song-and-dance show with many original rock tunes, Western ballads, ragtime and many George M. Cohan favorites: "Yankee Doodle Dandy," "Give My Regards to Broadway" and "You’re a Grand Old Flag." There are parts for chorus line, solo dancers, guitar players and comics. Lots of stage action.
