Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

The comedy is fast-moving and based on the dilemma of Sir Gawain, who must meet an impossible challenge. Merlin conjures a monstrous Green Knight who lets Sir Gawain strike him thrice with his sword in return for the same opportunity. A year of comic intrigue passes, and then hapless Sir Gawain must meet the Green Knight again. King Arthur is a small help, but Merlin comes through, and Sir Gawain wins the hand of Lady Elaine. Lots of silly fun.
