Sherlock’s First Adventure

Age Level: Middle Grades to High School
Cast: 15F, 8M, 1 F or M, flexible
Time: 60 minutes, 2 acts

When two girls are kidnapped from Butterworth Academy, John Watson hopes his friend and fellow student Sherlock Holmes will be able to solve his first crime. The girls’ parents show up with ransom notes. Then a psychic, Madame Lulu, appears, guaranteeing she’ll find the girls. The bumbling, inept Constable Bing begins his own search. When the psychic finds the girls after a large fee from the parents, Sherlock is suspicious. When two more girls go missing, he sets a trap to snare the criminal. After more large fees from the parents, Madame Lulu "finds" them again. Sherlock springs the trap, revealing the Headmistress and Lulu as sisters in crime. Lots of funny action and dialog. Easy to stage with one set.

This two-act comedy mystery play was performed by the Mariemont Junior High School in May of 2012. To view a trailer click here.
