Is There a Doctor in the House? The One Act Musical

Age Level: Middle Grades to High School
Cast: 14F, 9M, Chorus, extras
Time: 60 minutes, 1 act

As lively as a Broadway musical. It spoofs fake doctors who try to cure the mayor’s daughter, Lucy. To avoid marrying old Otis Lackluster for his money, Lucy claims she’s lost her voice forever. None of the quack doctors hired by the mayor can restore her health, but their methods are hilarious. A large cast with a variety of colorful Western characters. Five bluegrass country songs including: "Is There a Doctor in the House?" "Who’s Talkin’ ’Bout Love," "The Professional Way," "Love is the Best Dang Doctor" and "Medicine Show Today." A lively one act musical. Everyone gets laugh lines - even the audience!
