Age Level: Middle Grades to High School Cast: 6F, 9M, female dancers, extras, flexible Time: 90 minutes, 2 acts
Great character comedy roles! Solo and group singing numbers! And a spectacular show for dancers to do their stuff. All of the high flying fun of the ’40s with eight original exuberant jitterbug, boogie-woogie and jump’n’jive songs in the big band spirit of the joyous post-war years. All of this woven into a parody plot of Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet". But this time Venice Beach is the American location for a family feud between the Montagues and the Capulets. Two star-crossed lovers meet and must find a way to settle the grudge between their parents so that a Jitterbug Dance Contest and a Shakespearean play rehearsal can share the same hall. Funny characters and hilarious situations. The CD provides the big band sound for the dancers and the background for the singers. It all bristles with vitality -- a real crowd pleaser for all ages.
