Susie Toomey has chosen clowning and mime as her personal ministry. She frequently serves as a leader of weekend and week-long conferences on Christian clown and mime ministry. She has organized college students into performing troupes, and she is presently directing her own clown and mime troupe called “The Rainbow Connection.”

Mrs. Toomey’s husband, Rick, is an ordained minister who directs a counseling program for the Tennessee Eastman Co. in Kingsport, Tennessee. The couple have two children, Kelly and Chris, who have been performing as clown mimes since they were preschoolers.

The outgoing Susie Toomey is also a teacher of many years’ experience at the secondary and college level. She holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education. Currently, she teaches and coaches a class called “Clowning and Mime in Christian Ministry.”

In addition to her many clown and mime activities, she is very much involved in her own church and in denominational work.
