Creative writing and drama have been the continuing concerns of Betty Keller for the past twenty years. She has taught these subjects at the secondary and college level in several Canadian schools as well as at Numan Women’s Teachers’ College in Gongola State, northeastern Nigeria.
More than a teacher, Keller is also a playwright, having written several full-length plays in addition to many drama sketches.
She has been especially active in drama festival activities, having served as chairperson and co-chairperson at many drama conferences.
Her credentials for a book about drama are excellent, for her ideas are not theory, but a reflection of her experience. The suggestions are practical and do-able because she has walked in the shoes of the drama coaches who are the most probable readers of her book.
