Heather H. Henderson

Heather Henderson caught the theatre bug at an early age but never got to say a line on-stage until she was a senior in high school. She performed in many ballets (where you’re not allowed to talk) and then, in her first high school production, was cast as a deaf/mute character! It was not until West Side Story that she was able to utter the very memorable line, “Ooh, oobley, ooh” as Riff’s girlfriend, Velma.

After high school, Heather attended Florida State University (and again, she didn’t get to say any lines in The Merry Widow) where she decided to become a teacher. Following graduation, Heather taught drama for four years at Galaxy Middle School in Deltona, Florida, teaching students to say all the lines she was never able to. She currently teaches seventh grade Language Arts at Heritage Middle School in Deltona.
