Phyllis Johnson is an author, photojournalist, professional artist, and sometimes actress living in eastern Virginia. Her roles have included parts in New Detectives, FBI Files, Diagnosis Unknown, Psychic Investigator, Discovery Channel’s movie of the week and an independent film, Sweet Good Fortune. Admittedly, the strangest experience acting was a role on 6/6/06 (666) in Psychic Investigator — the “Possessed Investigator” episode about a possessed woman. The set was a makeshift church, and there was a thunderstorm underway. It was a truly surreal night for her.
Phyllis has also written for and performed at the Smithfield Little Theatre in Smithfield, Virginia in their annual One Acts Festival. Check out her website at www.phyllisjohnson.net to read about her books: inkBLOT, a young adult suspense novel co-written under the pen name Johnson Naigle with Nancy Naigle; Being Frank with Anne, a poetic interpretation of Anne Frank’s diary (she even got it reviewed by Anne’s cousin, Buddy Elias, and is thrilled to have a copy signed by Miep Gies); Twelve is for More than Doughnuts, poetry and essays based on the Bible; Poetic Dreamer, poems inspired by art, photography, and life in general; and her first book, Hot and Bothered by It, a book of midlife humorous poetry.
