Snow Off-White: The Untold Story

By: Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus

Age Level: Middle Grades to High School
Cast: 12F, 9M, plus extras
Time: About 60 minutes, 2 acts

This Snow White is like nothing you’ve seen before. She has seven fairy godmothers. She’s an ungraceful, bad-mannered tomboy, not a prim and proper princess. But she wants to please her father, King Vance, when he returns with Vilenity, his bride-to-be. Unknown to Snow, her future stepmother is a witch who has designs on the kingdom. When the magic mirror reveals that Snow will inherit the kingdom, Vilenity sends her henchman. But Snow escapes, seeking refuge at a cottage of seven fairy godmothers where she’s trapped by Vilenity’s prior spell. The bumbling godmothers manage to spring Snow by switching her with a princess from another fairy tale. Snow falls in love with the faraway prince while his former princess falls for Vilenity’s henchman. Along with the godmothers, they regroup and return to stop the wedding and defeat Vilenity before she becomes queen. A delightful show from two of Disney’s former scriptwriters. Easy to stage.
